Corrections RN (Registered Nurse) - Hertford, NC

We are seeking an experienced Corrections RN (Registered Nurse) for a contract opportunity in a juvenile corrections facility in Hertford, North Carolina. This position is ideal for a nurse who is confident working independently and providing safe, effective healthcare to adolescents in a secure setting.

We are particularly interested in a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in adolescent, pediatric, school nursing, public health, correctional/juvenile healthcare, and/or emergency nursing.

Corrections RN (Registered Nurse) Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Experience in adolescent, pediatric, school, public health, correctional/juvenile, or emergency nursing preferred.

• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.

• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical skills.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams or WebEx.

• Ability to follow established medical protocols and facility procedures.

Corrections RN (Registered Nurse) Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to juveniles in a secure correctional setting.

• Conduct patient assessments and evaluate medical needs.

• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.

• Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency medical situations.

• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.

• Coordinate care with appropriate medical personnel and facility staff.

• Function independently as the sole on-site medical provider during designated periods.

• Follow established medical protocols to support the health, safety, and well-being of juveniles in custody.
